I like to see the acting space as a battle field, where every spot and object is invaluable and generally illogical. For this work, I have the actors and the script as a starting point. Then, later, however, is only an excuse to present my own fear, love, heat, anger and obviously also my actor's emotions. after this, Antigone will be no longer a universal tragedy but a compilation of specific personal tragedies from every actor included in the creation. Antigone is the youngest daughter of Oedipus. After Oedipus death, Antigone and her sister Ismena and two elder brothers (Polynices and Eteocles) came under Creon’s custody. Creon is Antigone’s uncle and father of Haemon, her cousin and fiancée. After a Polynices and Eteocles killed each other during the war to gain the throne, Creon became regent of Thebes and ordered to bury only one of the bodies (Eteocles). Polynices is considered a traitor for raising his hand against motherland and left unburied to be eaten by dogs and vultures. Antigone could not bare his brother’s body stay unburied and stand up against Creon’s orders and tries to bury her brother’s body over and over. Finally, Creon is trapped by the power and his own laws, and ignoring his son’s pleads, condemns Antigone to death. She is thrown to a deep hole.
